I really wanted to share with you more details about the Sea Breeze watercolour collection and what inspired it to be made. This collection is made up of all the stationery you would need for your wedding, from save the dates and invitations, right the way through to all the matching on the day stationery, including the table plan, place settings, order of service etc... The whole collection has a light, fresh feel about it and would be perfect for a summer wedding, either at home or abroad by the sea.
So what inspired the creation of this collection. The watercolour stationery was inspired by the colours of the Californian coast. Last summer as I stood outside our Jeep on the side of Highway 1 looking down as the soft waves crashing against the rocks, the colours blew me away. Such a mix of shades, from light blues to dark blues with a mix of turquoise, it was truly stunning. I also knew in that moment that a watercolour effect would be the only way to reflect this within stationery. This is where the watercolour collection was born.
If you look closely at the water colour design you can see a mottled white effect on the edges (look at the bottom left hand side of the save the date card), this was created by overlaying a photo I took of the actual water on top of the watercolour effect and is the light reflecting off the waves, which I really love. To me it gives a real water / ocean feel and really softens up the edges, whilst at the same time bringing it to life.
The save the dates, invitations and most of on the day stationery is printed onto a 280gsm white 'Nettuno' textured card which really brings the watercolour effect to life. With the vibrant colours this stationery will really set the scene for your wedding. The fonts used on this stationery are a combination of a romantic script font and a traditional more readable font for the details. Combined these fonts really compliment the softness of the watercolour which creeps in over the background.
The invitations come in both a day version and a more simplified evening version. They can include all the details you need to give your guests, including accommodation, directions, maps and a gift poem for example. For more examples of what you could include in your invitations take a look at our invitation guide. With the daytime invitation you also get an rsvp postcard with your address already printed on the back making it easy for your guests to send back to you.
I always think that the save the dates and invitations are your guests first glimpse into your wedding, as this sets the scene for the theme and colours and I think that this stationery is simple and romantic, with a vibrant blue wash of colour which will really stand out.
In terms of on the day stationery this collection comes with everything you may need for the wedding itself, including a table plan which is printed onto a soft satin white 190gsm paper stock which is mounted onto a foam board to give it extra stability. Table numbers to highlight your guests' table and place settings to guide them into their seat. There are also signs, order of services, thank you cards, so it is really easy to follow this theme throughout.
All of our stationery can be completely customised to match your theme and ideas perfectly, and whilst we hope you like the watercolour collection, we know that it might need a few alterations to make it perfect for your special day. So if you are thinking of a different layout or your would like the details in a different format then whatever your ideas please get in contact to find out the possibilities.
We really hope you like this collection as much as we have enjoyed creating it and please take a look in more detail as we have so many more photos throughout all the different items, and if you have any questions please just let us know.
