A little while ago I told you about some Chalkboard style invitations that I had designed for an up and coming wedding. Now that the wedding has happened I wanted to share with you the on the day stationery that I designed to match the chalkboard theme…
I had great fun designing all this stationery. The main theme that we followed through was the chalkboard background and the bells that were found on the invitation, this really tied it all together and made it a complete package. The first thing that we designed was the order of services, these were in the style of an A5 booklet with an insert placed inside, secured with staples and a bow in the same ribbon as the invitations added to each one, (and yes 150 of these were all tied by hand!).
Next were the table plans, menu and the signs. This wedding had 150 people sitting down to eat so we decided to make the table plan A1 in size which really stood out as you walked into the reception room. The table plan was laid out in an A-Z order instead of table by table which really went well with the unique style of this stationery. The table plan was printed onto matt card which really gave it a chalkboard feel. Both this, the menu and a sign for evening guests as they arrived were mounted onto foam board and finished off with a ribbon boarder around the edge. The final signs that were created were 2 A2 signs which welcomed the guests and were placed in frames outside the entrance to the church.
One of my favorite parts of the stationery were the table names. Phil and Heather wanted to base the tables on 80′s cartoons which they used to watch when they were small. I really loved how these turned out and I loved the effect that they look like they were drawn on a chalkboard. We also created matching place name settings and by creating a style were able to print out customised readings for the church and also thank you stationery with Phil and Heathers names, the date and the blue bells.
I actually had the pleasure to be a guest at this wedding and it was a truly beautiful day and I wish Phil and Heather all the happiness for their future together as Mr & Mrs Bull x x
