Wow how time flies, I can't believe The Little Touches is 5 years old already! Although we don't have an exact birthday, August is a month to celebrate. August 2012 saw the launch of our website and our very first consultation. Looking back it has been such a journey, but one that makes me smile. Yes I can honestly say it has been the most stressful thing I have ever done, but when I'm passing over a finished box of stationery to an eagerly awaiting couple, seeing their reaction as they lift one of their finished invitations from the box, it's all worth it, and that's why I do it.
I absolutely love stationery, starting with blank sheets of card and seeing the printing process, and after all the cutting, folding, gluing, seeing the finished product at the end is my favourite part. Sometimes this may be months or years after I first sit down with a couple to talk about their ideas. Over the last 5 years I have been fortunate enough to meet some amazing couples and talk with them about their weddings and the ideas that they have. No matter the theme everyone's weddings are always so different, and unique to them.
Wedding invitations and in some cases save the dates are always your guest's first glimpse into how your wedding will look, a little window if you will. Over the years as technology has taken over and the written letter is a thing of the past, wedding invitations have stood the test of time. A wedding invitation denotes something special, a reason to celebrate, it's a personal message between you and your guests, that reflects you as a couple. Over the last 5 years I have seen themes and colours change, but the importance of wedding stationery is still as evident.
Over the past 5 years we have created save the dates, invitations, table plans, table numbers, place settings, signs, order of services, fingerprint trees and so much more. I feel so privileged to have been a small part of our lovely couples' weddings and I would like to thank everyone who has allowed us to create something for their wedding, either who we have met personally or through our Etsy shop. I truly feel blessed everyday to get up and work on something I love and I hope our couples love it as much as I do.
I can't wait to see what the next few years hold for The Little Touches. Below are a few fun facts about the last few years...
