Blue Wax Seal Flower Invitations

April 19, 2013

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of creating some invitations for a lovely couple who are getting married this Summer in a sculpture garden in Minneapolis. This was quite a last minute order and I only had a few weeks to get them designed and made, in order for the couple to get them posted and give their guests enough time to RSVP, as half the guest list live in America.

The couple loved the wedding invitations I had previously made with wax seals and wanted to incorporate this into their blue / sunflower theme. We designed a white invitation that was printed on 400gsm card with this great abstract floral pattern in blue. This pattern followed through the invitation and also accross the envelope to tie it all together.

I have to admit that my favourite thing about this invitation was the blue pearly wax seal. They chose a heart design and every time I stamped one of the seals I loved how it looked, it really finished off the invitation and sat on a pearly blue invitation strap/band which the guests remove to reveal their name. The invitation then opened up with the details of their wedding. On the back was a custom map to their venue, the only tricky bit was getting the right symbols for the American roads but Katie, the bride was their to help. I hope they have a fantastic wedding this summer.
